Royal & SunAlliance has boosted its presence in the health insurance market with the launch of a corporate healthcare cash plan
Values Company Cash Plan pays out cash benefits on a range of healthcare treatment and clients can select one of three levels of cover according to their need and budget
The three levels are: Values Care; Values Care Plus; and Values Total Care
Plans can be set up on an individual or family basis and children living at home can be covered free of charge up to age 18
The key benefits on the plan include cash for routine dental and optical treatment, personal accidents, out-patient consultations, day surgery, time spent in hospital and childbirth and adoption
Alternative therapies such as reflexology, homeopathy and acupuncture are also offered
A 24-hour helpline is included in the plan offering practical advice on a range of medical issues
The hospital cash plan arena is a rapidly growing market with UK premium income now reaching £216m a year and forecasts suggesting increased demand in the corporate sector
Following a short trial period in the direct market the plan is now available through IFAs
John Morgan, product manager of Royal & SunAlliance's healthcare and assistance business said: "Employers are increasingly interested in providing hospital cash plans for their staff, either as a complement to existing private medical insurance plans or as a cost effective means of extending health benefits within their organisation
"Values Company Cash Plan has been designed to help employers and their staff meet the costs of everyday healthcare for themselves and their families
"It offers brokers lucrative new sales opportunities from new cover for group schemes or the self-employed to cross-selling cover as a top-up to current PMI customers
