Shadow Secretary of State for Health, Andrew Lansley MP has been announced as a guest speaker at the first Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (AMII) conference, A Different Ballgame.
Lansley will set out the framework of Conservative health policy, and ideas on how the private and State sectors can work together more closely.
A second guest speaker, William Laing, of Laing & Buisson, has also been announced. Laing will examine market trends in private medical insurance (PMI), influences on the sector and key issues and challenges for the future. This adds to the line-up that has previously been announced, which includes a speech by Sir Ranulph Fiennes.
Delegates at the conference, at which COVER is the official media partner, will also be able to attend a series of breakout sessions on issues such as life after regulation, employee health and international heal-thcare provision.
The event is being sponsored by AXA PPP healthcare, Norwich Union Healthcare and BUPA, with further support pledged from FirstAssist and Allianz Worldwide Care.
The two-day conference is being held at Bayliss House in Slough on 9-10 June. Non-AMII members and other parties with an interest in PMI are welcome to attend.
