Standard Life Healthcare has become the first insurer to back the online launch of Policy Master's PMI quotation system, MediQuote.
The system gives intermediaries access to PMI product details via the internet and aims to improve the quotation process, allowing brokers to access figures using their own PC.
Iain McMillan, national sales manager of Standard Life Healthcare, said: "MediQuote is the e-commerce breakthrough that the PMI industry has been waiting for. We believe that its use will improve the quotation process for intermediaries, helping them to deliver a quality service to their clients."
According to Policy Master, more than 100 intermediaries registered to obtain quotes and benefit comparisons from PMI providers in the first days after launch. The system plans to include critical illness, long term care, income protection and health cash plans in the future.
