Norwich Union Healthcare has set up an IFA support team targeted at the private medical insurance market
The Healthcare Bureau was launched after IFAs called for a centralised unit to provide information and advice on PMI sales
The group said that IFAs often need specific support in order to build and prepare the PMI packages for their clients
Brian Gilfillan, Norwich Union Healthcare development manager, said the Sheffield-based bureau would provide a useful resource for advisers. "We know that IFAs have a stressful job they face the constant pressure of keeping up to date with continual changes within the industry, as well as ensuring they give their clients a high level of service," he said
The bureau's staff of specially trained healthcare sales consultants are backed by a nationwide team of Norwich Union Healthcare development consultants who keep in constant touch with IFAs in their area
Gilfillan added: "The Healthcare Bureau can help IFAs by preparing the most appropriate illustrations for their quote packages. It can also guide them through the complexities of PMI underwriting and pricing, advising on how claims and premium controls can function in order to maintain a cost-effective client package
