Google Trends analysis by provider, The Exeter, has found that searches for ‘financial protection’ have increased by 130% year-on-year.
Searches for ‘emergency savings' are up by 950% compared to the year prior, with interest in ‘income protection' also up by 30%. Cost considerations are becoming important for those searching income protection. Searches for 'income protection cost' and 'how much is income protection' increased by more than 5,000% year-over-year. These were both classed as breakout terms by Google Trends. However, The Exeter said the increased interest has not translated into people taking out protection.
