Talking therapies made up 85% of mental health claims

Over half (58%) of health insurance claims to Vitality last year were for its 'Everyday Care services', which is up from 10% in 2015.

These primary care services include Vitality GP, Talking Therapies, physiotherapy, and the newly introduced optical, dental and hearing cover benefits across its members, with claims for these making up the majority of claims. Talking therapies made up 85% of mental health claims in 2022, and physiotherapy claims have also grown by over 60% to 2022 from 2019, with members aged 25-39 the most likely to make a physiotherapy claim.
