Synaptic Software's Webline reports 40% increase in IP requests

Synaptic Software has reported a significant increase in protection requests from advisers on its Webline quote portal during January and February compared to the same period last year.

Statistics created from the Synaptic Webline tool show a 40% increase in income protection requests, with a 21% increase in total protection requests compared to this time last year. Peter Bayliss, product director for Synaptic Software, said this was due to a "series of changes in the market." He said: "The mortgage market itself is picking up, especially re-mortgaging, which has increased considerably as people who were once staying with their lender for long periods of time now don't, seeking better deals, often refinancing at the same time.
