Latest figures from the Association of British Insurers (ABI) show that 87% of loan and mortgage payment protection customers with valid claims are satisfied with the way their claim is handled. In both product areas 90% said they felt their claim had been treated fairly and 77% said they were happy with the level of information they received during the claim.
Roger Alexander, chairman of the ABI's payment protection claims committee, said: 'The acid test for most customers is when they come to claim. These results show high levels of satisfaction and, because they are consistent with last year's results, we know we have a good track record.'
