The only way to tackle and prioritise protection service issues is to get the weight of the adviser community behind what's important, writes PDG chair, Neil McCarthy

Back in December 2022, I was part of the debate representing the views of the Protection Distributors Group (PDG) at the Protection Review trying to identify whether product, price or process was seen as the "king" of protection. Surveying PDG members across these areas received a range of responses - but what stuck out in my mind was the level of issues (interpret that as frustration, disappointment and anger) that distributors had with insurers over what should be the simple processing of new business and policy amendments, and investigation and payment of claims.
