Two in five adults are stressed about funeral costs: MetLife

Only 13% of respondents had life insurance

Over two in five adults (45%) who recently planned a funeral were stressed about the costs, according to MetLife.

New research from MetLife's report, The Last Word: Tackling the death and funeral planning taboo, which surveyed 2,000 adults who experienced a bereavement in the last two years found that 18% were ‘extremely stressed' about funeral costs. Overall, 13% of respondents were unsure of how the funeral would be paid for, while 20% stated that they covered the costs with their partner, 31% paid through the individual's estate, and 16% had other family to help cover costs. Only 15% of respondents had a funeral policy, 13% had a life insurance policy and 7% had a workplace benefit policy. ...
