Legal & General has appointed Jane Dale as new managing director of its general insurance operations following the departure of Ian Viney.
Dale, who was previously managing director for Legal & General's group risk operation, will commence her role from the 1 July 2005.
Former managing director Viney decided to step down after accepting the opportunity to run Legal & General's joint venture in Egypt.
Thanking Viney for his hard work over the past two and a half years, Kate Avery, group director retail distribution at Legal & General, said: "During his time he has built our core general insurance business to over twice the size it was when he joined us in 2003."
