Provider, Allianz UK, has launched an accident, sickness and unemployment (ASU) insurance product that is available only through financial advisers and mortgage brokers.
The short-term income protection offering, which has been developed with AmTrust Specialty and Wessex Group, offers ASU; accident and sickness only; or unemployment only policy options. No medical underwriting is required and the product offers immediate cover, with benefits paid for a maximum of 12 months. Key benefits include covering up to 65% of a policyholder's gross monthly income, with a maximum of £3,000 for new mortgages and £2,000 for existing mortgages or customers with a mortgage offer.
