Aviva CEO Amanda Blanc awarded damehood

Aviva's group chief executive officer Amanda Blanc has been awarded a damehood in the King’s New Year Honours List.

Blanc has been named Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire for services to business, gender equality and net zero. She joined Aviva in January 2020 as a non-executive director and chair of the governance committee from Zurich, where she was chief executive of Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Blanc was then promoted to group CEO of the insurance giant in July 2020.
