Cashplan provider pays out 96.6% of claims for 2017

Cashplan provider Medicash has reported that its premium income for the year 2017 rose by £1.3m to £25.6m - a 5% increase on last year's figure. This growth was driven by a 13.9% increase in total policyholders to 227,255, as well as the number of new policies sold surpassing 70,000 for the first time. This is mirrored by a year-on-year growth in the corporate funded cashplan market over the last five years, with one million people receiving payouts from employers.
