Back in the day nothing delighted advisers more than attending seminars, conferences and exhibitions. Let me quickly explain that this was not because but despite the stupefying boredom induced by the occasional puffed-up ‘expert' speakers wrapped up in their microcosmic niche areas. The actual reason for attendance being the rich pickings that were to be had by accumulating goodies from the assorted insurer stands. A carrier bag to hold the swag was the first essential item but the real prizes were the abundance of exhibitor pens on offer. I guess we will never truly establish ...
