British Friendly's short-term income protection (IP) product is now available on Avelo's Exchange portal.

Changes to the portal mean IFAs can now automatically compare premiums for full IP products against those with a limited claim period, including the British Friendly offering.

The provider's full product was added to its service in October.

Mark Myers, CEO of British Friendly, said: "The Avelo Exchange Portal is used by over 20,000 financial advisers across the UK, so it is great news that advisers using it can now access a wider range of income protection products with a limited claim period."

Dave Miller, head of provider relationships at Avelo, added: "Having added the British Friendly Income Protection Plan last year, this was a logical next step.

"The income protection market is growing rapidly so it is pleasing to be able to increase our offering."
