It will allow up to one million members the chance to insure themselves for up to £400 a month for up to three months if they lose their wages through accident.
The insurer said wage protection can be invaluable with the rising cost of living and stagnating salaries meaning many UK families are now less financially cushioned to cope with unexpected life events such as accident, sickness and redundancy.
The offer is available only through credit unions.
Paul Walsh, CEO of Cuna Mutual Group, said: "Many families are being squeezed financially and we are extending this offer of free Wage Protection to help protect consumers against life's uncertainties, caused by an accident which could leave a breadwinner unable to make a living.
"During these uncertain economic times it is important to protect your wages."
