AMII Autumn Conference – programme revealed

The Association of Medical Insurance Intermediaries (AMII) has announced the programme for its Autumn Conference on 16 November and said it will also open to non-AMII members.

Speakers will cover PMI cover for cancer; quality in the independent healthcare sector; and a master-class session on how intermediaries can make effective use of social media in their business.

Speakers include:


• Naomi Sargoussi, principal at Mercer - who will share findings from Mercer's 2011 "Covering Cancer" survey, focusing on the challenges and opportunities facing intermediaries, HR and OH professionals in three key areas: - current cancer offerings in the market and issues going forward; how cancer care is becoming increasingly tailored; and what the PMI sector can do to provide the best possible cancer care at the most appropriate price.

• Neil Kleiner, head of social media, Havas Media UK - representing a global media company, kleiner will host a master class session, giving tips on how intermediaries can use social media effectively as part of their overall marketing strategy.

• Branko Bjeloboba, Branko Ltd - AMII's compliance consultant will provide a compliance update, including an overview of recent compliance developments and his views on the future shape of intermediary regulation under the Financial Conduct Authority.

• Don Grocott, director of The Private Patients Forum - which aims to help prospective and existing patients of private healthcare make the best choices and get the best service from insurers, hospitals and doctors.

• Matt James, CEO of the Private Hospitals Alliance (PHA) - representing the UK's 5 largest independent hospital groups the PHA works with Government and regulators to develop new ways in which public and private sectors can work together for the benefit of all patients.

There will also be a comprehensive update on AMII activities from members of the AMII Executive.

Andrew Tripp, chairman of AMII said: "AMII's autumn conferences are an important time for members to get together and review the activities of the year past and ahead.
