Employers must 'better manage' musculoskeletal insurance costs

Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions account for a high proportion of the value of claims on corporate schemes - typically 35 to 40% of the total claims spend - and are also responsible for around 33m days sickness absence per year, according to research.

Jelf Employee Benefits is urging employers to take a more active role in managing their health insurance costs by tackling the issue of MSK directly. Matthew Judge, technical Director for Jelf Employee Benefits said: "The industry as a whole has woken up to the fact that rising healthcare costs are unsustainable."
