American firm VSP Global has announced an expansion into the UK employee benefits market through its VSP Vision Care brand.

Vision Care, the largest not-for-profit vision benefits and services company in the US, provides vision care benefits promoting overall eye health and well-being, providing cash allowances for eye tests, glasses and contact lenses.

Announcing a soft launch the firm had originally entered the UK employee benefits market through US clients with UK divisions.

Following a roll out in Australia and Canada, the Vision Care brand will now be sold through advisers as an employee benefit in both the UK and Ireland.

Jim McGrann, VSP Vision Care president, said: "VSP provides a vision benefit that helps people see clearly, while supporting their overall health.

"Our clients have been asking us to bring our benefits offering here and we're excited to have a quality product in the UK that addresses the needs of our clients and members."

Commenting on the launch, Roy McLoughlin, IFA at Master Adviser, said Vision Care was likely to be well received by UK employers, adding: "The more choice that advisers have when talking to employers about their employee benefit options, the better."
