Towers Watson has launched a new financial modelling software product for life insurers worldwide.

The tool, RiskAgility FM (Financial Modeller) can be used by insurers for purposes including product development, liability modelling, reinsurance, business planning and forecasting.

It can help insurers manage risk and safeguard solvency, Towers Watson also said.

Joel Fox, global financial modelling and reporting product group leader (Life), at Towers Watson said: "Modelling functions have been designed so you can adapt the system to your way of doing things, rather than forcing your company to conform to rigid software requirements.

"And the open, flexible modelling environment gives you confidence that your models will be accurate as your company and your operating environment evolve."
