NHS reforms, workforce planning and threats to medical training will be key topics for more than 500 UK doctors and medical students at the BMA annual conference this month.
Work capability assessments determined by the Department for Work and Pensions through systems used by Atos Healthcare, and effects on the long-term sick and disabled, will also be discussed.
The Annual Representative Meeting will take place at the Bournemouth International Conference Centre form 25 to 28 June 2012. On the final day a new BMA chairman will be elected.
The first industrial action by doctors since 1975 will also take place the week before on 11 June to oppose the NHS changes.
