Former care services minister Paul Burstow will be speaking at an event in the House of Commons on 8 January to launch the findings of a report on the future of long-term care.
The CentreForum report, edited by Burstow, considers the current state of care financing and explores funding options.
The document backs the proposals of the Dilnot Commission, emphasising that its conclusions offer the best chance of reform and that tough political decisions are needed to turn it into a reality.
It includes contributions from a financial services expert, acknowledging the need for certainty to deliver necessary and sustainable long-term care insurance products, and from a carer, who is facing the impact of the current inadequate care settlement.
Partnership managing director Chris Horlick will also be speaking at the event.
