Mental health most common reason for absence

Data from Unum has indicated that its rehabilitation services helped nine out of 10 people back into work within six months in 2017, with 71% of group income protection claimants doing so after a period of long-term absence for injury or illness. The stat is the employee benefits provider's highest percentage since it started publishing figures in 2015. Unum helped 1,106 people return to work successfully following a long-term absence within six months last year.
