'Millions of renters are risking eviction and financial hardship' due to lack of protection, according to research from Scottish Widows.
Despite almost a third (30%) of private renters admitting that they'd not be financially secure if their household lost its main income, less than a fifth (16%) have life cover in place and only 3% have critical illness insurance. This is regardless of the fact that more than half (56%) have children under the age of 16 who rely on them financially. More than a third (35%) conceded that if they or their partner were unable to work for six months or longer due to ill health or personal injury, they'd be unable to live on a single income.
