The FCA's new shopping around rules have caused much hand-wringing and exasperation within the PMI broking community. What is the broker's job if not to shop around for their clients at renewal? How sensible is it to suggest to clients with serious pre-existing conditions that they shop around? And how responsible is it for the regulator to put undue emphasis on price over value? The industry has been unanimous in its condemnation of this ill-conceived initiative, and understandably so - it is simply unreasonable to expect a company to suggest that their clients check out their compet...
