LV= denies reports of merger talks with Royal London

LV= has held talks regarding a merger with fellow mutual Royal London which broke down in recent months, according to reports today.

Sky News reported that LV= has held "aborted talks" in recent months with Royal London about a possible merger or acquisition. However, a spokesperson for LV= has declined to comment on market rumour and speculation.  A spokesperson for Royal London has also declined to comment on market rumour of this sort.  The talks are said to have broken down amid a disagreement over the structure of a deal, according to Sky News.  LV= is also said to have received a number of enquiries from other insurers about a purchase of its general insurance division, It is also understood to have...
