Bupa launches fee assured physiotherapy network

Bupa has launched a nationwide physiotherapy network ensuring that customers will only be treated by senior qualified therapists who practise according to standards set by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Available from June, the new nationwide network offers access to more than 3,500 physiotherapy facilities.

Bupa said all of the therapists are fee assured and "won't send patients unexpected bills."

All network practices have met Bupa's quality criteria, customer service standards and agreed to fees for two years.

The network will also continue supporting Bupa's self referral service - which provides customers with direct access to a physiotherapist via a telephone helpline, without the need for a GP referral.

Alex Perry, general manager at Bupa UK said: "People tell us that cost is one of the main barriers that stops them using private healthcare.

"Our new network is another example of how we are securing long-term agreements with doctors, hospitals and therapists to give customers access to high quality, good value healthcare. Our agreement with Spire is another example of what can be achieved by working together and we want to work with other hospital groups in a similar way.

"By delivering prompt, high quality, effective physiotherapy treatment, education and advice, we can help customers to recover and prevent recurring long-term problems. We're really pleased that we've secured agreements with so many high quality and experienced physiotherapists for another two years."
