If the policyholder has a pre-existing condition that is likely to need treatment in the future, it will usually be excluded from cover and any conditions related to it. If treatment for a pre-existing condition is excluded when the policy first starts, HealthNow will, in some cases, review the exclusion in the future, if the policyholder wishes. Usually, the company will not remove an exclusion for a long-term medical condition which is always likely to need regular or periodic treatment.

Out-patient computer tomography: Full refund up to £500 per annum, for two investigations a year on the advice of a medical specialist for one of the listed specified investigations.

Day care treatment: If the treatment is for a specific procedure covered under the plan then it is covered for up to the policy limit.

Cover for costs of optical treatment: If the treatment is for a specific procedure covered under the plan then it is covered subject to the policy limit.

Cover for costs of dental treatment: If the treatment is for a specific procedure covered under the plan then it is covered for up to the plan limits.

Pre-existing conditions excluded: If moratorium underwriting has been chosen, HealthNow will not pay for any consultation, investigation or surgery due to any medical or physical condition which was diagnosed or known to exist in the 24 months before the effective date or in the 90 days after the effective date until two consecutive years have elapsed after the effective date without symptom, treatment, medication, tests or advice from a doctor or consultant.

If full medical underwriting has been chosen and the assured has a pre-existing condition that is likely to need treatment in the future, HealthNow will usually exclude it from cover and any conditions related to it. HealthNow will not usually remove an exclusion for a long-term medical condition which is always likely to need regular or periodic treatment.

Psychiatric treatment excluded: Yes

Treatment outside UK excluded: Excluded. HealthNow does not cover those who permanently live outside the UK, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.
