After September's Indian summer, it really feels like we're properly entering into autumn and winter now. As we turn the clocks back, put the heating on and prepare for dark and cold evenings, it's worth bearing in mind the enhanced threat from accidents, illnesses and bugs that can make the season a particularly testing time for GPs and the NHS.
